Emiliano is a field geologist with a very strong passion for sedimentary rocks, master of observation and description. He is worldwide recognized as THE expert of turbidites, the main object of his whole career. In 2004, Emiliano was awarded with the Twenhofel Medal (the highest award for Outstanding Contributions to Sedimentary Geology assigned by the Society for Sedimentary Geology). EMiliano has been assistant professor of Sedimentology at the University of Milano (60-65), research geologist for Esso (65-69), Professor at the University of Torino (69-82) and Parma (82-07).
