  • Mike's lines of ongoing research are: causes of mass extinctions, role of volcanic eruptions in climatic change, modeling of biogeochemical cycles. Mike collaborates with NASA and Goddard Institute for Space Studies, has been representative of the International Climate Commission, Co-Editor of the Encyclopedia of Earth Sciences Series (Kluwer Academic Press) and Editor-in-Chief of the new On-Line Encyclopedia of Earth Science. He is listed in American Men and Women of Science. Mike is Associate Professor of Biology at New York University. PhD from Columbia University.
