Bert builds bridges from academia to industry, from geology to gephysics. PhD at the Univeristy of Zurich.

EARLY THIS MORNING: MEETING WITH BERT BALLY. HE SEES ME, HE STARTS TALKING IN ITALIAN, HE KNOWS ALL MY PROFESSORS, HE KNOWS THEM BEFORE I WAS BORN. 5 PEOPLE IN THE ROOM, 5 HOURS OF SCIENCE WITH A "TALKING BOOK". DURING LUNCH HE TELLS THE STORY WHEN HE SPENT A DAY IN PRISON IN ITALY. THEN WE ROVER IN HIS LIBRARY, AMONG BOXES, LAMPS, ROCKS AND ATLASES, WE SIT DOWN AND WE TURN ON THE CAMERA FOR YOU.
